Synthetic Supramolecular Chemistry in Biological Systems

Our research is in the broad areas of supramolecular chemistry and coordination chemistry, and in particular in areas where these fields overlap with biological chemistry, lipid bilayer membrane chemistry and molecular nanotechnology.

That is to say, we design and synthesise functional molecular architectures and apply them to biological systems. Much of our current work focusses on supramolecular chemistry within lipid bilayer membranes and the stimulus-responsive transport of charged species across them.

Our group's research in membrane supramolecular chemistry has been recently highlighted in a Team Profile inĀ Angewandte Chemie.
