Kel graduated with a 1st class BSc (Hons) Natural Sciences: Chemistry degree with The Open University in July 2021, having completed her degree part-time whilst working and raising her son. She then completed her DPhil, as a student on the OxICFM CDT in 2025, where she worked on a joint research project between the Langton and Bayley groups. Kel’s research developed photo-responsive ionophores capable of activating ion transport in synthetic cells. Kel has recently started as a PDRA, having been awarded an EPSRC Postdoctoral Pathway Grant, to develop designer fluorescent nanodiscs for targeted therapeutic delivery. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Mojo, surfing, going to concerts/festivals, skateboarding, and socialising.
